We’ve started a new ‘Behind-the-Scenes’ segment called Team Tuesdays! Every Tuesday, we’re going to feature a different Yelling Mule staff member so you can learn a little about the dream team behind the web design magic.
This week, we’re featuring our intern, Eric Jansen!
Q: How did you get into the tech world (coding, design, etc.)? More specifically, what brought you to Yelling Mule?
A: I found myself here by first talking to Matt at a family party, when he made mention of the name “Yelling Mule” and what they did – it instantly stuck with me. I knew that I should get involved with the tech industry because it’s such a huge market with a growing number of jobs in the field, which will be helpful when I graduate. I saw Yelling Mule as my opportunity, so I applied.
Q: What has been your favorite project to work on at Yelling Mule and why?
A: I haven’t been here for too long, but I really enjoyed working and meeting with CryoBoston. They are a cryotherapy company that is getting ready to launch. It is a really cool product and is certainly something that I could see myself trying out.
Q: Where are you originally from? Do you still live there, or visit?
A: Walpole, Mass. Still live there with my Mom and Dad.
Q: What do you dip chicken nuggets in?
A: Honey Mustard, for sure.
Q: Do you have any special talents…. Besides creating unbelievable web designs and online marketing strategies?
A: I can eat an entire pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in under 5 minutes.
Q: If you could have a night out in Boston with any celebrity – who would you pick and where would you go?
A: I would pick Mark Wahlberg and ideally, I would go out to a few bars and just hangout. I’d probably ask him where we should go though, I feel like he’d know a lot more about spots to hit up for a good time.
Q: You’ve just won $1 billion dollars! Congratulations! What is the first thing you’re going to do with your money?
A: Immediately after winning the money, I would give a bunch to my family. And then I would rent a private jet and go to Las Vegas with all of my friends. From there…. Anything could happen.
Q: Currently, what’s your favorite song?
A: Either “Figure It Out” by French Montana or anything off Chance The Rapper’s new Coloring Book mixtape.
Q: If you could have any means of transportation (boat, car, plane, train, spaceship) where would you travel to and why?
A: First, I would fly all over Italy. Then take a big sailboat around the coast. It would be a great way to try all the different food and I really like the ocean so it would the perfect trip in my mind.
Q: What’s the weirdest thing on your desk, and what’s the story behind it?
A: I have a flyer that some lady handed me in front of the convention center. I had my headphones in and made a strong effort to avoid eye contact with her but she still hunted me down anyway. Other than that, my desk is pretty empty.
