Tips & Tricks

There are a number of elements a designer needs to consider as they embark on a new project. In this blog post we have compiled a short list of resources our design team uses. Each resource offers valuable insight that can be used no matter the project scope.

Behance

Behance is a great place to conduct design research. For those who are not familiar, Behance is a social media platform owned by Adobe. The purpose of this platform is “to showcase and discover creative work”. It’s been used by LinkedIn, National Design Museum and RISD. It offers a number of different categories so you can find the perfect inspiration no matter what your project is. Creative Fields include but are not limited to- architecture, branding, fashion, graphic design, UI/UX, and web design.

Adobe Color & Fonts

Adobe Color and Fonts are awesome tools! Adobe color is a web app and community where creators can share color themes and other inspiration. You can save these themes to your adobe creative cloud libraries to use in adobe photoshop, illustrator and photoshop sketch. Adobe Fonts is an online service that provides its subscribers with access to its font library. Fonts are awesome especially for our branding/ website projects. You can search for almost any font out there in this library.

Unsplash / Pexels

Unspash is ideal for stock images. Currently owned by Getty Images this site has over 265,000 contributing photographers and generates more than 16 billion photo impressions per month. We love Unsplash when it comes to social media graphics. It’s helpful to find a relevant stock image on Unsplash and then add more of a detailed design to it so it matches up with whatever brand we are working with. Pexels is also a similar platform we often use!
